A Little about me...

My name is George Serge Blonsky. I was born to a Greek mother and Russian father here in London in the late sixties.

I grew up both here and in Greece and aged 11 I was given my first ever camera.. an old Kodak instamatic which took 110 film cassettes.. I loved it and took as many photos with it as my pocket money would allow. By the age of 14 I was living back in London again and with a close friend we built a darkroom in the closet under the stairs.. and my love-affair with photography really took hold.

I went on to graduate from the London College of Printing with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Photojournalism. Since then I have been lucky enough to have travelled to many far flung corners of our little planet covering stories for national and international press... my editorial work has appeared in many magazines around the world including Royal Geographical Magazine, GEO Magazine, London Metro, Daily Mail, BBC, The Free Press, Journal Du Dimanche, Le Point, and Marianne and most recently on the online version of National Geographic.

In 2004 when the Olympics came to my home-from-home town of Athens I was lucky enough to gain accreditation for the Paralympics.. since then I have photographed almost all the Games including.. Athens 2004, Torino Winter Games 2006, Beijing 2008, London 2012 and most recently Sochi WInter Games 2014.

In addition to the editorial and sports photography work I do ( of which you can see more at www.geopictorial.com ), I have also almost from the start of my photography career been involved with shooting weddings, baptisms and other social engagements and also of course schools photography which you can see here on this site.
